Thats a Rotax 1503 SCIC-HO, it’s a 1500cc supercharged and intercooled PWC triple that makes 255HP in stock factory form (the tuners say 350HP is “reliable”, and it can handle being pushed to over 500... Rotax even sells a factory racing ECU that’s fully user programmable!). It is designed for closed-loop cooling already, the only thing that would need work are accessories, transmission adaptation and the air-water intercooler would need to be replaced with an air-air unit... but it’s already got an alternator, who needs power steering and A/C? it weighs almost exactly as much as the 1.8l Mazda BP-series engines, and is shorter, wider and lower (dry sump). Push that sucker right back against the firewall, down low... Not only massively more power, but no change in weight balance! -Yes, it is available as a crate motor...

re-reading the specs: *INSTALLED* weight, with fluids and cooling system is the same as the bare 1.8l BP engine with accessories mounted...
giggity.

What is that motor originally out of ? a Seadoo boat or something ?

Yep, it’s installed in Sea-Doo boats and PWCs, it is also sold as a “power-pack” with a jet-pump and accessories for boat builders and as a bare “crate” motor through special order channels.

I could put one of those in my Lincoln and have a 100% bump in power and about a 500lbs weight savings. WIN WIN!
